HWPriceguide is excited to announce a new beta feature to the website! You can now document and track the value of your collection. No more clunky spreadsheets that you forget to update, just an easy, user friendly experience. We’ll go more into the details in this blog post.
Let’s start with a small tutorial, when you enter the website, press the hamburger menu on the top right, and you’ll see a box on the left prompting you to login or sign up.
After you’ve made an account, or signed into an existing account, this panel will also offer an at a glance view of your collection. Handy right?
Now that’s the proverbial hardest part. It’s super easy from there, now we can start adding away, take the 2023 1990 Chevy 454 SS for example
Currently there is no way to view your wishlist, so we’ll skip that for now and instead focus on cataloging your collection. I’m going to go ahead and add this to my collection.
We can now pull up that same hamburger menu, and as mentioned earlier, we can see that as this is the first car I’ve added to my collection, my collection is worth $48.
You may need to refresh the page to see this section update.
From now on, whenever you pull up the page for that car, you are now given the option to remove the car from your collection should you ever need to.
Moving on, you can manage your collection by clicking “view collection”.
At the top of the page, you’ll see both the count for your collection and wishlist. You’ll also see the total value of your collection. This value will change depending on the individual values of cars over time.
Below this main top panel, you’ll find a list of all items in your collection. By clicking View/Edit, you will be taken to the individual car’s page, either to look at price history, or to remove the car from your collection.
That about wraps up this tutorial! Happy collecting!
