The second car in the Hot Wheels Elite 64 series goes on sale on Tuesday the 7th of February 2023 and this is one you won't want to miss. The second casting to be released in the Elite 64 series is the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. It's a beautiful casting in a Graphite Gray with a ZAMAC body type and Real Rider Steelie wheels.

Second release but labeled Number 1

Even though the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is the second in the Elite 64 to be released, with the first being the 1996 Toyota Chaser JZX100, the packaging lists it as the first in the series. As any collector knows, the first of anything in a series is often the most popular.

Historically, Hot Wheels cars with the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL casting have been popular cars. While the Elite 64 series of cars are not limited to Red Line Club members and there is no limit to the number of cars anyone can purchase, that does not mean these cars are unlimited. As we saw with the Toyota Chaser, these cars do sell out. This makes them a limited release and their value will increase over time in the secondary market. The Toyota Chaser has already seen a 60% increase in value since its release and we expect that value to only increase over time.
