FAO Schwarz Exclusive Gold Hot Wheels Set

In the world of Hot Wheels, the hottest collection right now (pun intended) is the FAO Schwarz 160th anniversary commemorative 8 pack. These sets are flying off the shelves at Target, the exclusive retailer for this special edition Hot Wheels pack. They are also heating up the secondary market.

Average price for this set on the secondary market is currently around $35 as of the time of writing this article, which is double the retail price of $19.99. You may want to hold off on paying the extra cost just yet though as these sets are still available in some Target stores and new stock comes in daily. Don't wait too long though, these cars are selling fast as soon as they come in.

FAO Schwarx Hot Wheels Gold Set 2022

The special FAO Schwarz Hot Wheels set features 8 cars in a cool gold deco. The multipack includes the castings of the Volkswagen T2 Pickup, '67 Camaro, Nissan Skyline HT 2000GT-X, '71 Porsche 911, Bone Shaker, Twin Mill, Aston Martin 1963 DB5, and Land Rover Defender 90. Sure to be something for every collector's tastes.

These exclusive sets are advertised as being available for the 2022 holiday season but there are no details on the quantity produced yet. It's safe to say that at the current level of collector interest, these sets will be sold out long before Christmas so don't snooze on picking up a set if you see it in stores, otherwise, you will be stuck with paying the secondary market price.

The popular castings included in the set along with the limited availability of the set makes it a good bet for long-term appreciation in price. Even picking up a set at $40 may be a good payoff later down the road.
