What are Community Points?

Community Points are a way to recognize and reward members who contribute to the Hot Wheels Price Guide community. By uploading images and helping improve the database, you can earn points and climb the leaderboard. Points are tracked for the last 7 days, 30 days, and all time, so there's always a chance to compete!

How to Earn Points

Main Image Assignment

If your uploaded image is selected by moderators to become the main image for a car, you'll earn bonus points. Main images are the primary image displayed for each car in the database.

First User Image for a Car

Be the first person to upload an approved public image for a car that previously had no user-uploaded images. This bonus reward encourages adding images to cars that need them most!

Upload a Public Image

Upload a public image of a Hot Wheels car. Once your image is reviewed and approved by our moderators, you'll earn points. Only public images (not private) are eligible for points.

Tips for Earning More Points

Upload high-quality images: Clear, well-lit photos are more likely to be approved and selected as main images.
Focus on cars without images: Look for cars that don't have user-uploaded images yet to earn the "First User Image" bonus.
Make images public: Only public images are eligible for points. Private images won't earn points even if approved.
Be patient: All images are reviewed by moderators before points are awarded. This usually happens within a few days.

If your image is rejected, you won't receive points for that upload. Common reasons for rejection include poor image quality, incorrect car, or inappropriate content. You can always upload a new image if yours was rejected.

How are points calculated for different time periods?

Points are calculated based on when the activity occurred. For example, "Last 7 Days" includes all points earned from activities that happened in the past 7 days. "All Time" includes every point you've ever earned. This allows for fair competition across different timeframes.
